How to Access our Service

You can refer yourself if you are a qualifying patient under the Mental Health Act 2007. Patients detained in hospital under certain sections of the act have a statutory right to an Independent Mental Health Advocate (IMHA). For more information on qualifying patients please contact us. Our advocates visit the hospital wards at least once a week.

If you are in hospital on a voluntary basis (not detained under the Mental Health Act) you can be referred to our services by any of the medical staff on the ward.

You can be referred by your GP, CPN, Psychiatrist, Counsellor, Social Worker or other professional as long as you are being treated for a mental health related issue.

We may at a later date ask you to feedback on our service. This is completely voluntary.
