Independent Advocacy is a long established charity that operates from a base in Warwickshire. We provide advocacy to people with a range of needs such as mental health issues, learning disabilities or physical frailty. We also provide in-home services and manage the finances of some clients on behalf of the Department for Work and Pensions. We now have the following exciting opportunity for you to become an important part of our work and dedicated team. Senior Advocate - Team Management
Salary: £25,951 p.a.
Full Time: 37 Hours per Week, Office Based
Location: Stoneleigh, Warwickshire.

As a motivational individual who puts the outcomes for service users at the heart of their work, you will lead and support our skilled team of advocates in providing high quality statutory and general advocacy services. You will not hold a caseload and will enjoy the opportunity to develop good practice and participate in projects to extend our Advocacy Services.

Reporting to the Head of Advocacy and Wellbeing Services, key responsibilities include:

  • Day to day supervision of the Advocacy Team, including performance management, appraisal and assignment of caseload.

  • Promoting service user engagement and identifying key outcomes for service users.

  • Working closely with the Senior Advocate-Complex Cases and Contract Management and contributing to the development of the service.

A qualified and experienced Independent Advocate with IMHA or IMCA experience and a sound understanding of the Care Act and Mental Health legislation in the delivery of advocacy, you will have:

  • An accredited qualification in advocacy e.g. the City and Guilds Diploma or Certificate in Advocacy.
  • Practical experience working as an advocate

  • Team management or supervisory experience

  • An understanding of case management systems and implementing safeguarding protocols

  • Excellent communication and report writing skills.
